Air conditioning units and air-to-air heat pumps may seem similar, but they serve different primary functions. Air conditioning units are designed specifically for cooling only. On the other hand, air-to-air heat pumps are more versatile as they can provide both cooling and heating. In the summer months, they work like traditional air conditioners, in cooler months they extract heat from the outside air and transferring it inside to warm the house.
This dual functionality makes air-to-air heat pumps a more comprehensive solution, likely why they’re the more popular of the two. Air to air heat pumps are often more energy-efficient than traditional air conditioning systems
All installers have their own preferred brands, we work with and are qualified to install many of the major manufacturers. We work with LG, Mitsubishi, Stiebel Eltron, Daikin, Nibe, Vaillant and many more. We may specify a different brand in two homes, depending on the system requirements. We offer a variety of air conditioning systems suitable, including split units, central air systems, and single room units. Our selection caters to different home sizes and layouts, ensuring that each customer finds a solution that best fits their needs.
Once installed, both A2A heat pumps and air conditioning units are very easy to maintain, however, it will need attention on a regular basis, just like a boiler does. Annual services are a requirement of most manufacturers to maintain their warranty. Checks between 2 to 4 months are recommended in order to prolong the life of the unit, services are recommended annually to get ahead of any issue and maintain the efficient operation.
Air-to-air heat pumps do qualify for 0% VAT however aren’t they don’t qualify for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme like air-to-water heat pumps do. Why not see if an air-to-water heat pump with the same 0% VAT and £7,500 off is cheaper than an air-to-air system installation
